Welcome to the USGenWeb Project Blog!
Hello and welcome! Whether you’ve arrived here as a longtime USGenWeb Project volunteer or you’re visiting for the very first time, we’re delighted to have you with us.
This blog is the newest companion to USGenWeb.org, created to make it easier for researchers, volunteers, genealogists, and curious newcomers to learn what our Project has to offer. For nearly three decades, the USGenWeb Project has been dedicated to providing free genealogical resources for every state and county in the United States. We’re passionate about preserving history, supporting family research, and building a strong community of volunteers who care deeply about keeping these resources accessible to all.
Here on the blog, you’ll find:
- Guides to help you navigate our many state and county sites
- Tips for making the most of the resources we provide
- Spotlights on projects, tools, and volunteer opportunities
- Updates and support for our current USGenWeb members
- Stories, insights, and inspiration from across our nationwide community
If you’re new to USGenWeb, we hope this space helps you discover how much we can offer your research journey, and maybe even inspires you to join our Project and contribute to the preservation of local history.
This blog is also for our wonderful volunteers. Expect helpful how-tos, project news, and shared experiences from fellow members who know just how rewarding being a part of USGenWeb can be.
Thank you for stopping by. We’re excited to grow this space with you—sharing knowledge, celebrating our community, and continuing the mission that makes USGenWeb such a special part of the genealogical world.
Welcome, and happy researching!
